YOGA
“Yoga is when every cell of your body sings the song of your soul”
B.K.S. Iyengar
Yoga is a way, of connecting our body, mind and soul.
The combination of mindful movement and breathing takes us right back into the present moment – and that’s where we meet ourselves. The practice of Yoga includes physical movements (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama) and meditation. On a physical level we build more strength, flexibility and balance. Life force energy is built up and we’re able to release tension and rigidity. Our breath becomes calmer, deeper and more balanced. Meditation and Pranayama are great tools to quiet the mind and enhance our focus and concentration. A regular yoga practice not only helps to reduce our stress levels by increasing our capacity to consciously unwind, but also improves sleep quality and our general state of wellbeing on a physical and mental level. It creates more harmony in our system, which helps us to go through life with more ease and joy.
I teach a Hatha based approach of Yoga meaning we’re holding some poses for a small period of time but also including more dynamic and gentle Yoga flows. As for me, yoga is a form of moving meditation and therefore always connected with the breath and practiced in a very mindful way. This means we’re always coming back to our body and building aware of our physical and mental sensations. Relaxation, Pranayama and meditation are as well integral parts of my lessons.
