MEDITATION
Meditation is the journey
from sound to silence,
from movement to stillness,
from a limited identity
to unlimited space.
Sri Ravi Shankar
When we meditate, we try to focus our mind and hereby create a state of inner peace.
By concentrating on a subject of meditation, like the breath, an object, a sensation, a mantra, sound or simple movements, we create focus and awareness. This quiets the mind and guides us back into the present moment. Our attention is drawn inwards. Meditation is helping us to develop more mindfulness, inner peace and freedom. It adds to reduce stress and anxiety and therefore takes us into a state of serenity and calm.
We learn to establish an inner approach of curiosity and acceptance while reducing judgement and valuation. We meet ourselves in a loving way – just as we are. We become the still observer of what is going on in our mind. This creates true inner freedom.
In that way, meditation can become a profound and effective technique for self realization, self awareness, inspiration and creativity.
“The mind is like water.
When it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see.
When it’s calm, everything becomes clear.”
